Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional international job cuts are expected, with the company aiming to reveal complete information in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Previous updates stated the company was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the organization employed nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented regarding the report.
