Alarming Recording Reveals Moment Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Surprise Attack
A police sergeant that leaped to the aid of a colleague who was ambushed by a blade-wielder has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Valor.
Sergeant Tim Ansell grappled with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he placed a knife to the neck of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the policemen and their colleague, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist after a traffic accident in that location in mid-2023.
Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a Taser.
"Policeman attacked," the constable stated over his radio.
Bodyworn and vehicle camera footage shared by the police department revealed Brown, wearing in black with a head covered, rush to Sgt Foster from behind with a blade pointed forward.
He collided with the policeman who stumbled and went down to the street, before Sergeant Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the ground although being repeatedly struck with the weapon.
PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and awaited a open target, ending the struggle to an conclusion.
Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "I need help on my throat here, I'm bleeding in the neck."
Sgt Ansell received two lacerations to his throat and more wounds to his limbs and torso, while Sgt Foster suffered knife wounds.
Authorities reported Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to control his partner's hemorrhaging before medical personnel came.
This most recent honor comes after the three officers received internal Bravery Awards in October 2023 and the police federation award from the regional Police Federation in early 2024.
They were also awarded a Regional Valor Recognition in mid-2024.
"The efforts of the entire team in the end saved themselves and resulted in no bystanders endured any harm."
Brown was given to an psychiatric detention in April 2024, per authorities.
